Whimsical Creatures Workshop with Amy Tedge – Sat 17th Oct
After long admiring her distinctive style of applique collage on Instagram and at Hettie’s Patch, we are thrilled to have Amy Tedge return to The Strawberry Thief for a workshop on her beautiful appliqué animals.
For this class Amy is offering the choice of either a cute little squirrel or a dashing hare design to work with. These delightfully cute little critters look so divine and are perfect for using up small amounts of fabric left in your stash!
During the class, Amy will guide you through the process of drafting your chosen critter on to linen, appliquéing your fabric down and then embellishing your design with a variety of embroidery stitches.

Amy started quilt making when her mum, Lorraine, opened Hettie’s Patch in Adelaide fourteen years ago. Over the years they have brought together beautiful fabrics, designed many many quilts, and calculated endless borders.
Amy started @fromtheshopfloor on Instagram to showcase her own sewing and painting projects for Hettie’s Patch. Recently, the inability to throw away some small pieces of fabric treasure has lead her down a garden path full of fanciful animals – “I like to think of each one as it’s own study in composition, techniques, and colour – with a little whimsy thrown in for good measure.”
